Seth says

Seth Godin has his 1002 post today and provides this advice:
  1. Make something worth making.
  2. Sell something worth talking about.
  3. Believe in what you do because you may have to do it for a long time before it catches on.
  4. Don't listen to the first people who give you feedback.
  5. Don't give up. Not for a while, anyway.

Good advice.

What do you think?

Thanks for pointing this one out Steve: way behind on my blog reading, and I probably would have missed it.

On the one hand, I’ve got to smile with how slick Mr. Godin has become in incorporating his own compliments into his posts. On the other, I give him full admiration and think “rightly so” for once again he is so effectively articulate in penning what should be the obvious to the rest of us, yet is not until HE writes about it.

This time the short summary he ends with on “What does this mean to you?” — which you shared with us here — eerily sums up what has been my own experience over the past 2 years with Managing with Aloha. It doesn’t yet have the success of his Permission Marketing, but without what’s available to me today in new tools of this age, it may not have made it this far in this relatively short amount of time.

yes, Rosa. The tools today are so much better than before. And yet, still not where they could be. To help foster more of this synergy it would be nice to have better tools.

I feel an idea coming to fruition, pulling together some postings and comments I have either made or read recently on this theme of an idea and how it can grow to be more than what it was when it started.

Of course, I'll come back to share it here as it owes much of its reason to be to the fostering of the idea by this community.

And having publicly committed to doing so, I'll likewise be held to bring it to closure... :-)
